"From Isolation to Community: A Jericho Epiphany at OCC"

I have spent a lifetime pushing people away. To be honest, I’m not even sure why I started doing it in the first place, because deep down within me, there is a very real desire to be around people and to be woven into their lives. To love and be loved deep rested in the recesses of my heart of hearts For as long as I can remember, I have operated by strict boundaries—at least a "five- and ten-inch rule." I wouldn't dare get into anyone else's space, and heaven forbid anyone crossed that sacred, invisible line into my own ten-inch circumference. I wonder at times why I spent a lifetime locking people out of my world. It must have worked with terrifying efficiency, because up until September 2025, I had never experienced a lasting friendship or relationship in my entire life, save for the two women I was married to at different times. Isolation became my armor. But God—and only God—knew the quiet, aching truth hidden deep within the recesses of my heart: I needed people...

Nothing is Wasted: One Community Church

Image
Sunday morning, August 30, 2026, at One Community Church, the presence of the Living God who created us all, filled the atmosphere.  The moment Grace Roden—our youth pastor—began to sing, there was something in her voice that I hadn't heard from her before.  She sang with all her heart, and a powerful anointing rested upon her that instantly and actually shifted the entire atmosphere in the worship service…  When she delivered the words, "Nothing is wasted in the Father’s hands," tears sprang into my eyes.  I always know that God is moving and speaking when those tears roll from my eyes… Grace is a dedicated minister that constantly pours into others and ministers to us to the body of Christ, and on this morning, Jesus used her in a mighty way.  Through the Holy Spirit resting upon her, that anointing broke a long-time yoke that had been upon my life. In that sacred moment, I heard the heartbeat of my Abba, who revealed Himself as my Kinsman-Redeemer . Just as...

Deep in Serve Mode

As you all are aware of, I was going full throttle into being a Core Peer Support Specialist by next year.   So many doors were slammed in my face during this time, it was unreal! Yes, even from the very people I thought would support the most!  So several weeks ago now, after much  prayer and debate, I unplugged,  letting it all go.  “I forfeited getting certified.”  The next Monday at 2:00 am June 8th, I got a very unsuspecting call from my dad who will be 82 in August   I rushed him to the ER. He was in there for 5 days. He had a severe UTI and sepsis with rigors and delirium…the whole nine yards.  My dad is very blessed to be alive right now, if I had not got him to the hospital in time.   That hospital stay was utterly horrible experience for all of us, as well to see him suffer. But I’ve been there with him every step of the way.  My sister,  niece and I made the solid decision for me to stay and be my dad’s full time caregi...
